We formed ProjectKPub because a core team member experienced first hand the pain of self-publishing a novel with no editing support. It wasn’t that he couldn’t afford the editing, but he knew the book wouldn’t sell very well as it was his first novel and a significant developmental pass would have been needed.
He couldn’t rationalize spending multiple thousands of dollars on a book that would make less than $100 in sales. We know this isn’t an isolated experience, so we didn’t want price to be a barrier.
If you’re asking how we can be so affordable. We are a team of 3 editors. We have a strong working relationship and have experience tackling project together. Each editor improves the speed of the other and we collaborate closely. We share the workload to work quickly. The faster we work, the less time each of us invest, and the savings is passed down to the customer.

Yes! Many authors have this idea that you should give your manuscript to an editor when it’s done. That simply isn’t true! When a member of our team started writing, he benefitted tremendously from having an editor review his work while halfway through his first novel.

See our ‘Editing Services’ page for the most up to date information.
At this time, the clients that choose our Premium editing package receive the full stack of services. These clients receive top-quality technical editing (copy editing, line editing, and proofreading); and our developmental editing services with an accompanying Editorial Assessment.
The Editorial Assessment is one of PKP’s advantages over other editing services. It combines in-manuscript edits and bookmarks with a comprehensive writeup. This document outlines your story weaknesses and proposes changes to correct them.
